Hi! My name is Melissa Szatko. I have been teaching First Grade at Indian Hill since 2012. I really enjoy teaching and love waking up everyday to work with my students. In 2014, I began co-teaching with Mrs. Rife. Even though there are two teachers, we run our classroom as one. I really enjoy colaborating with her on a daily basis. We work really hard, but have a lot of fun too!
Outside of school, I enjoy spending with my family. My husband, Andy, and I got married in 2003. We have two wonderful children, Mason and Reese, that keep us very busy. I also enjoy reading, playing softball, volleyball, and visiting family in MN, WI, and CA.
I graduated with my Bachelor's in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2003. In 2014, I began the Primarily Math program offered through UNL. I have completed that program and recieved a Math Specialist Certification. I am currently working towards my Masters Degree through UNL. I will graduate in May 2018.
